1. How to Reach Harsil?
The most convenient way to reach Harsil is from Dehradun, the nearest Airport is Jolly Grant Airport. It is quite difficult to get direct transport to Harsil from Dehradun/Haridwar but there are taxi and bus services available from Dehradun to Uttarkashi which is just 2-3 hours away from Harsil.
The nearest major railway station is Dehradun Railway Station. After reaching there you can take a bus or shared taxi to reach Uttarkashi in 4.5 hours and from there, a local taxi would take you to Harsil in a drive of 3.5 hours.
Harsil is situated on National Highway No. 108 where State transport buses run regularly between Uttarkashi and Dehradun/Rishikesh taking about 6 hours in all. However, the timings of buses are from 6 a.m – 12 a.m, after 1 p.m only private vehicles operate which are quite expensive. Further local buses to Harsil can be opted from Uttarkashi taking you to Harsil in another 3.5 hours.

Despite being a small settlement , stretching only a few kilometers, Harsil offers a range of accommodations, from cozy lodges and homestays to comfortable resorts, here you might choose a homestay in the nearby Dharali village or properties on the banks of River Bhagirathi.
